Leading Hand/Supervisor- Residential + Commercial Projects in ROCHEDALE, Queensland
Brisbane based builder/developer looking to recruit the professional services of a genuine leading hand carpenter who can handle the pace, carry out quality carpentry works, as well as juggle site supervisory roles while working with a young and talented carpentry crew. Must be well versed in all facets of carpentry and construction in general. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with excellent english speaking and listening skills, liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors, organise materials and quotes, work in accordance with the construction schedule, and be willing to work long hours 6 days week.
With other project opportunities available throughout Qld, the company is looking for long term candidates only that can be moulded into first class supervisors and project manager into the future. Looking for a candidate thats preferably young, unmarried with no depedants and flexible with working hours and project locations.
Must have an excellent eye for detail and the utmost pride in their work and site performance.
Must have respect for compnay managment, clients and all other crew members.
Must be willling to work in remote or coastal locations at short notice for extended periods of time if required.
Must be willing to travel long distances by vehicle or air if required.
Must be non-smoking and be able to pass drug tests when required.
Must have no alcohol or gambling problems and a clean criminal record.
Must be well presented, fit and healthy to promote the successful brand of the young company.
Must have drive and ambition to become the best in the construction industry.
Must have good patience and be willing to bide their time to continually develop and hone the necessary skills.
Must have excellent computing skills and be able to produce daily/weekly construction reports for management.
Expereince with estimating and estimating programmes will be very advantageous.
Experience in formwork/ shuttering, high rise and civil projects will be highly regarded.
The company has an excellent 'in-house upskilling program' underway and ideally looking for a candidate willing to undertake further upskilling, studies and learning about all other trades within the construction industry.
The candidate must be willing to invest plenty of their own time into getting the best results out of themselves. Nothing that comes on a golden platter is truly appreciated.
The candidate must be able to look and think 'outside the square' at all times to solve problems and other situations that arise on a weekly basis in the construction industry.
Must have a 'can-do attitiude' and be willing to sacrifice some good times to roll through the tough times when needed.
Must have a positive attitude towards all OHS procedures and practices, be a team player at all times, be willing to train the young apprentices and less experienced tradesman, and able to follow directions instructions from company management at all times.
Additional certificates or high risk work licenses will be advantageous.
Must have a construction industry safety white/blue card.
Must be legally allowed to work in Australia.
Would consider applicants on 457 visas if the right candidate came along.
